An Introduction to ..... → An Introduction To ..... —
- Caps, blacklisted —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 18:33, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose. The "to" is lowercase because it is assumed to be followed by other words which are represented by the dots. (And replace the 5 dots by 3 dots?) Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:11, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
- Comment It is assumed that "Roy Harper" is the rest of the title, but that's not actually in the title. WP:MUSTARD and WP:CAPS are both clear about capitalizing the last word of a title. —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 16:33, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
- Paint me hypocritical: I think that the debate over the case of t in to is pretty petty, yet at the same time feel compelled to say that a Wikipedian ellipsis is three dots ... 81.111.114.131 (talk) 21:48, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose Yes, the convention at WP:CAPS is clear about capitalising the last word of a title, but this is an unfinished sentence: whatever followed (replacing the dots) would be capitalised, but not the to. Support reducing the dots to three though. Skinsmoke (talk) 04:20, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
- It looks like that on the album cover, the '.....' means that its author's name 'ROY HARPER' below the image, also serves as the end part of the title. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 16:26, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
- Rename to Introduction to Roy Harper. This is how allmusic lists it as as well as amazon.com. Vegaswikian (talk) 22:15, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
- Comment This seems like the best solution. —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 19:19, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
- The official website lists it as "An Introduction To..." with capital T and three dots. Anyway I am deactivating the movereq because it has been way over 7 days and there is not consensus for any particular move yet. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 16:25, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

The reason I created the page as it is, is because that is the name of the album "An Introduction to ....." much the same as any other album really. Why does anyone feel the need to rename the page something other than that which the album is called? Stephenjh (talk) 18:47, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

An Introduction to ..... → Introduction to Roy Harper – or An Introduction to Roy Harper or Introduction to ... or Introduction to... Roy Harper (with or without a space before the ellipsis). This is one of only three articles on Wikipedia that has five consecutive dots in the article title (along with two other albums: Endtroducing..... and 5.....Go). Independent reliable sourcing seems hard to find. Harper's own website listed it with only three dots. Allmusic has "Introduction to Roy Harper". Amazon.com has "Introduction by Harper, Roy". Discogs has "An Introduction To Roy Harper". Discogs (FWIW) has a photo of the liner notes, which say "An Introduction To Roy Harper". See also the prior RM commentary on the article's Talk page from 2010. — BarrelProof (talk) 02:05, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
