Fifth Series
[edit]Why do people insist on referring to this as the fifth series when the production codes say otherwise? 146.115.31.95 (talk) 03:32, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
- See here and here. DonQuixote (talk) 04:03, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
- As you've pointed out there are already pages devoted to the issue, why bring it up here as well before a consensus is reached? Swampy 138.130.158.92 (talk) 22:01, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
- Because the BBC isn't a reliable source. :) --174.131.155.12 (talk) 17:34, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Corrections
[edit]Right then, forgot my old account/password but there needs to be a change in the "Amy's Choice" plot section. The current line reads "the Doctor sets the TARDIS to crash anyway" but the actual dialogue in the show is Amy: "What are you doing now" Doctor: "Me, I'm going to blow up the TARDIS" (occurs at about 39:09-39:11). This dialogue is then followed by a SFX explosion (as opposed to a crash). Manny1216 (talk) 03:56, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
The pensioners aren't really Ha'rik they are Ecnodeen Did whoever edited this page really watch the episode? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dalek1099dp (talk • contribs) 11:45, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Ecnodeen or Eknodine?
[edit]Can we get some sort of consensus or source for the spelling? This is turning into a slow edit war. magnius (talk) 14:11, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
- I am told, (but have not been able to personally check) that the Episode subtitles spell it 'Eknodines' AlexanderJBateman (talk) 14:21, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
- But rather like the talk over at Victory of the Daleks, can subtitles be cosidered a reliable source for spelling? If not there, then not here either. magnius (talk) 14:26, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
- Possibly not, but that is the only vaguely official source I can find currently. The BBC seems to drip supplementary material out pretty slowly. AlexanderJBateman (talk) 14:36, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

The subtitles, which are often contracted out and in any case don't seem to be produced by people who have access to the shooting script, are not a reliable source for spelling. In fact I'd also be inclined to question their reliability on dialog because gross errors are not unknown. Tasty monster (=TS ) 11:29, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
- http://www.whatsontv.co.uk/drama/doctor-who-2010/story-so-far/amys-choice/7567 is listing them as 'Eknodines' too, if people are happy to use that? AlexanderJBateman (talk) 00:35, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Inappropriate use of ellipsis
[edit]"At least...she thought she was the first!".
This is an inappropriate use of ellipsis, apparently intended to portray comic timing. No material is omitted, so a comma is more appropriate. Tasty monster (=TS ) 16:59, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
Image
[edit]I think a better screenshot to represent the episode would be one showing the "Dream Lord", if anyone can obtain one, and especially if it shows the Doctor and the Dream Lord confronting each other in the same frame. The alien shown is not the central point of the episode, but rather just one of the two scenarios of the story that the characters alternate between, and over both of which the Dream Lord "presides". Even within the alien subplot, however, I think a better image would be of the characters being chased by the "senior citizens". The closeup of the alien protruding from the mouth may be the most explicitly sci-fi image of the episode, but it's not the most significant. postdlf (talk) 16:35, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
- I have uploaded a screenshot image I made myself showing the Doctor and the Dream Lord. Wtbe7560 (talk) 16:29, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
Anyone else notice this?
[edit]The elderly people attacking and chasing the three, as I was watching they heavily reminded me of the Ganados from the video game Resident Evil 4 The actions and the way they walked reflected them exactly. (Except in the dream they were aliens in disguise, while in the game they were villagers possessed by a parasite)
I am new to Wikipedia so if this isn't the right place to talk about this then I apologize. Dartpaw86 (talk) 23:18, 5 September 2011 (UTC)Dartpaw86
- Unless there are reliable sources with reviewers commenting on how it was similar that affected their opinion of the episode or other reliable sources that state it was an inspiration, then WP:TRIVIA suggests it be left out. Glimmer721 talk 20:02, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
