Cryptid

[edit]

This

Claudius Aelianus in the "Characteristics of Animals" write that there was a leopard called the Ampelus, it was not like the other leopards and had no tail. If it was seen by women it affected them with an unexpected ailment.<ref>[http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/hopper/text?doc=Perseus%3Atext%3A2008.01.0590%3Abook%3D10%3Achapter%3D39 Aelian, Characteristics of Animals, § 10.39]</ref>

needs to be shunted to a separate article focused on it as a cryptid, pending some source claiming that it's a misunderstanding of the mythological figure (the topic here) instead of a cat (which would be a separate topic in a separate article). — LlywelynII 01:15, 18 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
