adding a diagram with all the biochemical pathways in it

I was thinking of adding a summary figure that includes the pathways of all of the non-essential amino acids biosynthesis in humans however these would be had drawn. So dose anyone have any thoughts Nheyer (talk) 22:52, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Conflicting/outdated information on histidine

Nonsensical statement at the end of first section

"The pathways for the biosynthesis of essential amino acids are much more complex than those for the nonessential ones."

Are essential amino acids not defined by the fact that they cannot be synthesized (as stated at the beginning of this section)? How can the synthesis pathway be "much more complex" if it doesn't exist at all? 176.72.1.113 (talk) 11:29, 26 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Where are amino acids synthesized?

The article doesn't say where amino acids are synthesized. Encyclopedia Britannica says, "Some d-amino acids are found in microorganisms, particularly in the cell walls of bacteria and in several of the antibiotics. However, these are not synthesized in the ribosome." and this seems to imply that some amino acids are synthesized in the ribosome.
