[edit]

Kato Amiantos and Pano Amiantos are now the same village. Nowadays, Pano Amiandos has been abandoned and therefore Pano and Kato Amiandos constitute one community with the name Amiantos. I have move Kato Amiantos to Amiantos since that was the main village in which the other "enter". [1]. Xaris333 (talk) 00:03, 11 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Major Missing Fact here

[edit]

It appears, from the entry for asbestos, and a bit of googling, that the ancient greek word for asbestos was amiantos - so, was the town named for the asbestos? Amiantos means "pure or undefiled", so likely the word was used for the rock first, and the town was named for its mineral resource. How old is this town - I would guess that the mineral was not named after the town.(talk) 08:39, 12 March 2018 (UTC)just some guy, you know?[reply]
