Dead link
[edit]The article had the following:
- Americus has been facing a large bat infestation since the mid-1990s; millions of bats are estimated to reside in the historic mansions there.
This was referring to this CNN article. However, that's a dead link. Anyone know the correct link? - Tbsdy lives (talk) 05:13, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Leesburg Stockade incident
[edit]Put in a link to the Leesburg Stockade incident (which wasn't mentioned in the article even tho it has its own extensive article, imagine that) in the lede and some material in the History section. I expect it to be reverted, which is expected and understandable tho wrong, and this will probably bear watching. Herostratus (talk) Herostratus (talk) 06:24, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
Leesburg Stockdale Incident
[edit]The sentence which reads:
"At least fourteen girls were taken to a filthy "hellhole", an isolated prison in Leesburg, Georgia where they were held incommunicado for at least 45 days, in appalling conditions, without right of correspondence or legal representation, and with their families not knowing where they had been disappeared to."
This giant sentence contains a great deal of information, but perhaps not organized in the best way grammatically. The grammar is not in question if this is a direct quote from a news source of the time. Should this be the case, it should be more clearly noted.
Otherwise, this passage should be better summarized. A single sentence that contains the information of a paragraph is not up to Wikipedia's high standards. Nor is ending a giant sentence with the words "had been disappeared to".
Lacking the skills or experience to edit official articles, perhaps somebody better familiar can research if this is a direct quote, and if not, make the information contained in this sentence grammatically correct. 2601:98A:D00:15C0:45D6:D5FA:93B3:80FB (talk) 18:24, 26 October 2023 (UTC)
