Contested addition of templates: LGBT and discrimination
[edit]The addition of templates {{LGBT}} and {{discrimination}} is contested for this and other related articles. The discussion is occurring here: Talk:American Family Association#Navboxes – MrX 21:04, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
Outing
[edit]The NPR source talks about the troubling act of LaBarberra outing gay staffers of Republicans and the Naperville source is about him outing "pro-gay" conservatives. This may be a facet to expand on if someone is in the mood. Insomesia (talk) 13:13, 19 September 2012 (UTC)
- I haven't found anything other than some outing-esque comments he made after Obama nominated Elena Kagan for the Supreme Court. – MrX 20:54, 19 September 2012 (UTC)
RfC
[edit]An RfC: Which descriptor, if any, can be added in front of Southern Poverty Law Center when referenced in other articles? has been posted at the Southern Poverty Law Center talk page. Your participation is welcomed. – MrX 16:19, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

[edit]68.100.130.186 has repeatedly changed the wording, for example here in a way that deviates from the sources. I opening this section so that they can justify these changes.- MrX 23:59, 27 December 2015 (UTC)
I don't understand the use of the terms "false claims", and "propaganda" in respect to this group. One liberal political association (SPLC) saying they are false is not conclusive proof that they in fact are false. Maybe it could be "The same year, he posted literature that made a series of claims about gays running the German Nazi Party. The claims were disputed by the Southern Poverty Law Center" 68.100.130.186 (talk) 19:55, 28 December 2015 (UTC) user:68.100.130.186
- The SPLC is not a political organization. They are a civil rights organization. They are well respected and cited by many, many reliable sources. If you can find another reliable source that says the LaBarbera's claims may be accurate then we can discuss it. Until then, we have to follow our sources.- MrX 22:04, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
- The SPLC has numerous articles promoting amnesty for illegal immigrants, listing conservative politicians as "haters", and other things. They are a political organization. I think it would be reasonable to simply say that "the SPLC claimed that... or something else similar to that wording. They listed Ben Carson as a hater. The magazine WND Whistleblower ran a long article on SPLC's "hate racket". There is controversy, and if this really is a neutral encyclopedia, than the controversy should be noted. 68.100.130.186 (talk)
