"Controversy" section
[edit]This whole section is unsourced, soapbox-style ranting. If there's no concrete reasonf ro keeping it, I'll remove it again. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 13:41, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
- I only checked this discussion page after reading the incoherent section titled "Controversy", and I see that a whole year has passed and still this section remains, or was added again. I will remove it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.82.62.24 (talk) 13:07, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

American fried rice → khao phat amerikan – People think American fried rice refers to fried rice dishes of the US. If we move Thai fried rice to Khao phat and American fried rice to khao phat amerikan, it may be easier to avoid the misunderstanding. Just like the example of nasi goreng and nasi goreng pattaya. 211.205.71.49 (talk) 12:03, 15 April 2017 (UTC)--Relisting. Yashovardhan (talk) 13:10, 22 April 2017 (UTC)

- Oppose. "American fried rice" is the commonly recognised English translation of ข้าวผัดอเมริกัน, and should be preferred according to WP:USEENGLISH. In any case, transcribing "American" into Thai and back into "amerikan" doesn't seem like a good idea. --Paul_012 (talk) 23:59, 16 April 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose move per above. ONR (talk) 05:23, 26 April 2017 (UTC)
