really lots of room for improvement here.
[edit]unfortunately im a bit too tired to fix it up properly. . . .
i would expect that someone would have to go through the russian language media looking for stories about this? but i would expect during the Soviet era their media did not report on American spies caught there, or did it? And how could you trust Soviet media as a verifiable source?
Interesting questions. Decora (talk) 02:12, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
Seriously. For example, the title: "American espionage in the Soviet Union". You then proceeded to immediately fill the rest of the article with examples of Soviet espionage in America.
OK what would i do to improve it?
ONE: actually, you know, put in a list of actual spies that worked inside the Soviet Union that were on the payroll of the Americans. A good starting place would be to find the names of the people that Aldrich Ames betrayed to the Soviets. Several of them are listed in the books written about Ames, and on the wikipedia article on Ames.
Another thing would be to list notable spying incidents. I guess the Reagan/embassy stuff is interesting, but its completely unreferenced.
You are also going to have to deal with the issue of the various 'show trials' against 'spies' who were probably not really spies. Decora (talk) 02:15, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
My god, what a terrible article. The information, the style, the mechanics are profoundly awful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.16.44.82 (talk) 02:09, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
"American"?
[edit]Meanwhile listing only USA spies? Are you serious? Shouldn't the article be called USA espionage in ... ? 109.206.156.72 (talk) 09:58, 6 November 2017 (UTC)
