Proposed Deletion
[edit]short-lived: yes. not-notable: oh no.
first of all, this is one of the many bands of mike kinsella. one of the most important figures in post-emo indie rock or whatever you want to call that genre. second: one of their songs was used prominently in emogame 1. third of all: well. their music is just too awesomely beautiful. well ok, that's not a real argument.

they are definitely notable. I know a lot of music fans who still listen to them today.
i agree with the comments above. while the band was together for a brief period of time and only released 12 songs they are definitely noteworthy.
Their releases are availible in music stores nation wide, there is no reason this page should even be considered for deletion.
american football came on my yahoo radio & i was curious who they were. i immediately turn to wikipedia when learning about new bands, so i appreciated that this page was available.

Notable band for prominence of release, influence on others and history of members; I oppose deletion. --Opark 77 08:08, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
Emo
[edit]The "Emo" genre was removed due to Mike Kinsella saying that they don't play emo in an interview. I don't believe that to be a good reason to remove the genre, as many articles about it will cite it as an "emo" band. If anyone would like to add to this, please do, but for now I'm going to keep the Emo genre in.Quilladin206 (talk) 20:40, 31 May 2017 (UTC)
