Obama involvement
[edit]A review in the Guardian goes with the angle of Barack and Michele Obama being behind this film, as its producers, although unless I have misunderstood the article the film was already finished and being screened at Sundance by the time they got involved, so I'm not sure in what sense it is really the Obamas' first film! Sounds more like an endorsement by and promotion by the Obamas to me. I will leave this for editors who know more about film production to incorporate if relevant. - Clarke, Cath (16 August 2019). "The Obamas' first film: will American Factory be the biggest documentary of 2019?". The Guardian.
- Variety says the same thing with a slightly different emphasis "the Obamas have come on as producers after the fact." Anyone wanting to create or expand the Production section will need to make this clear. We don't often hear about producers coming on later in the process but it happens. -- 109.79.172.205 (talk) 12:35, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
