Validity?
[edit]The pre-1936 champions- why are they here? Just because someone made up a list? I have looked at the bloodhorse and tbheritage sources and they give no clue as to how they were compiled. They need to be separated from the main list, or removed altogether. Unless someone can enlighten me. Tigerboy1966 (talk) 17:35, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
question move
[edit]I question moving this article, as until 2015, turf horses were eligible (and notably, Wise Dan was a turf horse). I think that it should be moved back and a new article created at this title. Thoughts? Montanabw(talk) 22:02, 12 March 2015 (UTC)
- The reason I moved the article was because the Eclipse Award was renamed, instead of the Older Male Horse category being retired and a new one created. JRHorse (talk) 02:23, 13 March 2015 (UTC)
- Your reasoning is sound, but the problem is that many previous winners were turf horses, so it's confusing. They have basically eliminated HOY with the rename, for all practical purposes. Let's continue the discussion. I'm thinking moving it back AND creating this as the new article ... updating the list at the main article to note is also. (Yeah, I'm a Wise Dan fan, so...)
