Ginsberg never preformed the poem with Waits. A very popular mashup was made of Ginsberg reading the poem over tope the Wait's song "Closing Time", but the two never acctually preformed it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.70.59.238 (talk) 20:51, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

the link to the full text of the poem is dead.

Merge with Howl page

[edit]

I'm of the opinion that this particular article being its own page is wasteful and inefficient. "America" is part of "Howl and Other Poems," yet links to "Howl and Other Poems" send readers just to the "Howl" page, a page JUST about the poem, not about the collection. "America" is one of Ginsberg's most important poems, but I'd argue "Sunflower Sutra" and "Supermarket in California" are just as important. They don't have their own articles. I suggest making an article for "Howl and Other Poems" that includes specific references to the poem "Howl" and "America" and "Supermarket in California" and "Sunflower Sutra"; otherwise "Howl and Other Poems" and "Howl" should be two separate articles.
