Article reinstated

[edit]

Please do not remove this page again, as a singer songwriter away from the band aswell Amelle is notable, more so than thousands of other individuals with their own page! DO NOT REMOVE IT AGAIN! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.201.234.31 (talk) 12:13, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please add to the article to document that she has "demonstrated individual notability for activity independent of the band, such as solo releases". This is currently not shown. - Mdsummermsw (talk) 14:03, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
To what extent does one derive notability? I appreciate what the guidelines state, but you have entries such as Rick_Parfitt where the guy has only ever been in one band, so shouldn't really have an article. Berrabah is "notable" I would say for what has occured outside the band, because this is what is reported in the press and is what viewers will potentially come to the article for. Thoughts? Thedarxide (talk) 14:59, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, there is an article for Rick Parfitt. "Plenty of articles exist that probably should not....it is quite possible that the other article should also be deleted".
We have guidelines for establishing notability. Wikipedia:Music#Criteria for musicians and ensembles applies here. Has Berrabah "demonstrated individual notability for activity independent of the band, such as solo releases"? Independent of the band, this is what she has done:
  • went to school (not notable)
  • was in a non-notable group with her sister (not notable)
  • the non-notable group had three songs that she presumably wrote or co-wrote; none of them notable (not notable)
  • wrote some other non-notable songs for the current group (not notable)
  • her boyfriend was arrested and cleared (not notable)
  • was arrested for assault and causing criminal damage (not notable)
Basically, we need notability meeting guidelines or a strong reason to ignore the guidelines. I see neither one. - Mdsummermsw (talk) 16:52, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Odd introduction and over citation

[edit]

I think the introduction is non standard with its inclusion of mention of amelle being "mononymously" known as, and as far as I can tell several items have two citations where one would suffice, and one with four.
