Article Vandalised?
[edit]It appears this article has been vandalised: There's reference to "frequent prostitution sprees", and the introductory sentence looks like some incorrect additions have been made. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.51.132.191 (talk) 22:06, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
May not be the Biblical queen
[edit]I'm troubled by the weak website sourcing for the claim that Amanitore is the Candace mentioned in Acts. Indeed, several more scholarly works indicate that this is quite likely incorrect: (Bock, Darrell L. (2006). Interpreting the New Testament Text: Introduction to the Art and Science of Exegesis. Good News Publishers. ISBN 1581344082. Retrieved January 6, 2009. {{cite book}}

Can I suggest that you add this to the article. There is a lot of doubt about the dates of these things. The facts are unknown but the sources can be quoted and the area of doubt made clear. The "Met" think she was the Candace during biblical times but the timing is a matter of debate. I do not have access to this source so I invite you to make the change you propose. I have looked again at this source and I can only get a snippet but the quote I have indicates that "early sources did indicate" her to be the Queen. The snippet I have suggests that better information is now available.... but does not give a source for that. Can you supply this source or are you happy to update based on a snippet?
