Geo Coordinates

[edit]

I tried to figure out from the Template links, the discussion pages, the inactive discussion pages, etc. etc. etc., what the policy is for coordinate references, and what markup to use to insert them. After an hour of poking around in a confusing mess, I gave up. That area of this encyclopedic adventure seems to be a shambles. I'll leave the geographic coordinate references as they are; at least they're clear, even if they do expect readers to go to Google Earth. Maybe someone who's better clued-in than I can put them in the proper form. MaxwellPerkins (talk) 04:44, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The WikiProject for geographical coordinates began a transition to a new form, but received some requests for rethinking right after it began to be deployed. I haven't tracked it closely, but not much seems to have changed since last autumn. I changed the coords you provided to an immediately useful form, which I think is likely to remain endorsed for some time to come. —EncMstr 05:00, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Don't have time to upload them myself and add them to the article, but the Oregon BLM has a gallery of public domain photos if anyone feels inspired:
