Talk:Allopathic and osteopathic
Allopathic/osteopathic
[edit]Thanks for taking a look at Allopathic and osteopathic. I think I retargeted it to alternative medicine on the basis of the consensus relating to another very similar redirect at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2018 August 4#Allopathic and osteopathic medicine, but at that time the target had a bit more relevant information than it does now. So you might want to also retarget Allopathic and osteopathic medicine and Allopathic osteopathic. Personally, I think all three of them are better off deleted than pointing to U.S. specific topics (a bunch of related redirects were deleted for that reason at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2018 August 2#Comparison of allopathic and osteopathic continuing medical education – the proliferation of non-U.S.-centric titles in this area pointing to a U.S.-centric article seems to be the result of one or several moves of Comparison of MD and DO in the United States over the last 12 years) but my feelings are not that strong and the whole area is a bit of a minefield. Keep up the good work! – Arms & Hearts (talk) 14:04, 9 May 2019 (UTC)
- @Arms & Hearts:, thanks for the kind words. Actually, deleting it was my first instinct, as well, and probably should have, but was lazy. My solution felt second-best, for the very reasons you listed in your summary, so I wasn't entirely satisfied with it myself. And thanks for pointing me to the Rfd, and to the other two redirects. I'll have a second look, and may raise another Rfd for this one, and perhaps those.
- One point: this being about the redirect page, do you have any objection if I move this discussion to the Talk page there, so other eidtors can find it more easily, if interested? Thanks again for your comments, and happy editing! Mathglot (talk) 19:20, 9 May 2019 (UTC)
