Found a cricket the other day in me backyard

[edit]

I keep finding werid bathroom wasp in me house everynow and then. And now this buggy. I captured a allards ground cricket last night, he was drowning inside me dog's water bowl. Scoped the cricket out with a bottle and filled the bottle with toilet paper and napkins. God knows how long he was in the water. I played a movie and before movie was over the cricket started to sing. I heard before that crickets make music by rubbin their legs. But not this one. It shakes his back wings and thats how the music happens. He kept singing all night long and really loud and scary so i had to take the bottle outside, i was a bit scared he would attract other crickets. I sliced some carrot, pumpking stem and a bite of almond. He picked the almond. He was happily eating until i think he realized the missing half of his antenna was right besides the almond... He ate very little. His left antenna is allright.

By the morning cricket was moving really fast and nimble, nothing like the night before. i guess all that water hurted him somewhat he couldn't move properly. I kept him under the bed i tought he would feel safer in a dark area. I spoke to him a lot and told him that i would set him free tonight, i don't want him to get killed by a cat or bird right after release so im watching over him for now. The time to release him is now so i just took the bottle outside and opened the lid and im letting the bug choose when he wants to come out... He is not moving at all, he knows the lid is open and still prefers to stay inside. An hour has passed and he chooses to stay. I talked to him a little and told him i'll take care of him for another day and repeat the procces until he chooses to leave. AaronRC93 (talk) 02:41, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
