Derivation
[edit]The word "allod" is translated in the German article as "volles Eigentum" which is the exact opposite of the translation into English as "joint property". I believe the translation into German, meaning "complete property" is the corect one. The translation into English is very wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.203.111.210 (talk) 09:27, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you for spotting this I have now corrected it. This article was originally translated from German Wikipedia which is where the error came from, but they have changed the wording, so I have updated it here too. The derivation and definition now agree with each other. --Bermicourt (talk) 20:59, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
Merger tag
[edit]I have removed the two merger tags at allod and allodial title for the following reasons:
- The merger proposal was not set up properly; each tag points to a different talk page and no reason for the merger is given
- There is a long-running factual dispute at "allodial title" which ought to be resolved before any merger is proposed
- Their coverage is different and so the proposal fails WP:MERGE criteria. "Allod" focusses on the medieval term in Europe; "allodial title" mainly on modern US practice. --Bermicourt (talk) 17:41, 30 October 2014 (UTC)
