Money Magazine unsourced statements
[edit]To interested parties: I am removing the unsourced statement about Money Magazine, as I have not been able to locate evidence to support it. I reviewed the "Best Small Cities" lists for 2005 through 2008 and found that Allen Park was mentioned as a "contender" in 2007, but did not make the Top 100. It was not mentioned in 2005 or 2006, and is listed as one of many "other" cities in 2008 that did not make the list. Joncaire (talk) 02:25, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
In reply to the above: After noticing that there was once an uncited statement about Money Magazine in the article, I did further research and discovered that while Allen Park wasn't ranked for the title, it was still recognized. The magizine maintains that contending cities such as Allen Park weren't listed because they required that "Small Cities" have a population between 50,000 and 300,000 in the 2008 publishing. Because it was still indeed recognized by Money as well as noted on the City of Allen Park's website - cityofallenpark.org - I decided that it would be best to reinclude this fact in the article. --SC, 11/24/08 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.12.199.23 (talk) 10:40, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
How old is Allen Park High School?
[edit]This page of the website cited in the high school article seems to prove that the district was operating a high school (on the site of another district school) no later than 1952, not 1955: "The 'new' Lapham School ...housed kindergarten through 12th grade until the high school was opened in 1955. In 1952, the high school rowing team won the national championship." Broglin, Sharon. Allen Park. Arcadia Publishing, 2007.
