"Kournikova's earliest notoriety was as the five-year-old subject of a January 2010 third-degree felony child neglect case when his mother left him at home without supervision while she ran errands.". If I understand the situation correctly, his mom was the subject of the case. Allan Kournikova was just being a five-year old and five-year-olds are not notorious in any, way shape or form. Even better. The latest version has Allen (a five-year-old) arrested.

Alla would be Anna, I presume, who would be the subject of the case, with Allan being the victim of child neglect. Moreover, WP:BLP demands things like these be sourced and WP:UNDUE asks what's the point of including this incident prominently.

Why exactly is he listed asKournikova? Russian last names are patronymic and any last names ending with -ova are feminine version, so he should be listed as Kournikov. Norum 03:27, 25 March 2017 (UTC)

There is nothing to fix and no, he should not be listed as Kournikov. He is listed as Kournikova because that is the name he and his family use. People are allowed to choose their own names and how they want to be referenced and those choices are not dictated by the requirements of a specific language. Properly sourced information

It is inconceivable to me that there is an attempt to subvert Wikipedia standards by removing properly sourced information.

I no connection with the subject of this article. Editing is not a hobby of mine, I have been a professional editor for more than 35 years. I have edited newspapers, television news, television entertainment, magazines, books, periodicals and website content, to name a few. I have taught journalism and editing at the university level. I have been an editor on Wikipedia for more than a decade to give back to the world of journalism, a world I love and that has given me my life's work. I have included this information about myself only to remove any notion that I have an agenda when editing this article or any suggestion that I don't know what I am doing.

There appears to be an issue with properly sourced information in this article. The information is neither ambivalent nor rooted in controversy, nor does it have the potential to be inflammatory to a person. We are discussing the most basic facts about the subject of this article, a sentence reading "Allan Kournikova was born in Russia on September 22, 2004 to Alla Kournakova and composer/instrumentalist Baron Michael Mood de Medici."

This properly sourced information has twice been removed from this article. Upon its removal a second time, a message was left on my personal talk page calling into question one of the sources that was provided and referring to the source as "a gossip rag."

The source originally provided for this information, the Montreal Gazette, was founded in 1778 and is "Quebec's oldest daily newspaper and Canada's oldest daily newspaper still in publication." It is among the largest daily newspapers in terms of circulation in Canada.

The Montreal Gazette meets all the Wikipedia requirements to serve as a source for facts in Wikipedia articles. It is not up to an editor to arbitrarily and unilaterally proclaim a 242-year-old publication to be a "gossip rag." Perhaps we don't care for the manner in which certain publications do their jobs, but if a publication meets Wikipedia standards as an Acceptable Source then it will stand unless there is irrefutable evidence placed before the Wikipedia community that a publication falls short of that standard. Such evidence has not been provided in this case, only one person's opinion.

However, lest there be any question, I added still another proper citation for the information in question from the Baltimore Sun, one of America's oldest and most respected new sources. The Baltimore Sun is a Pulitzer Prize winner and a James S. Keat Freedom of Information Award winner. Its journalists have won numerous prestigious awards in news and journalism, including the The George Polk Award. Yet, even with the addition of that unassailable source, the information was again removed and in doing so the addition of the Baltimore Sun reference was inexplicably ignored and the Montreal Gazette was deemed to be a "gossip rag."

Given the fact that there are at least two proper sources of the information in question, I have returned it to its proper place in this article. Further attempts to remove this information will clearly reveal a personal agenda, one where someone is perhaps acting on behalf of the subject of this article, but one that is most certainly in opposition of the mission of Wikipedia to provide "a comprehensive written compendium that contains information on all branches of knowledge....to present a neutrally written...and verifiable summary of existing mainstream knowledge in a fair and accurate manner...with a neutral point of view.
