Tacit conclusion?
[edit]"The fact (stated at the end of the book) that US companies were granted the majority of the oil concessions from the Shah's government after the coup, does not feature significantly in the earlier part of the narrative. However, that this was the chief reason for the coup is the tacit conclusion of the book."
This "tacit conclusion" statement seems like opinion, rather than a serious assessment or criticism.
It should also be noted that in the new forward in the 2008 edition of this book, the author explicitly states that the "real reason" for overthrowing Mossadegh and installing a pro-Western government was to create a vassal state and extract Iranian petroleum. —Preceding unsigned comment added by CLSwiki (talk • contribs) 20:52, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
- The summary omits the very pertinent fact that the PM staged a coup of his own, forcing the Shah out of the country. He was no longer the legal or elected PM. The countercoup by royalists and the military restored the shah. The description currently is very misleading. Is this based on the book?203.184.41.226 (talk) 19:43, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
