borges' deutsches requiem
[edit]i am both a huge mycophile, and a borges fan. i have re-read deutsches requiem four times just now, and can't find the phrase "looking for all that the rain promises; and more-he sought the very essence of the lunar tides in his precarious life". i have the hurley translation, not henderson, but there is nothing in the story remotely similar in theme or meaning. it's told in the first person. the only references i can find when i google are to this wiki article or to an old reddit thread. can anyone confirm if this phrase comes from borges, and if so, from which story? thanks. - That has now been removed as I couldn't find the qoute in "Deutsches Requiem" either. Vpab15 (talk) 14:17, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
