Symbolism of willow

[edit]

My understanding is that willow symbolizes not just grief but the end of love or even false love (being jilted, etc.) as suggested in some references. The idea is that a willow branch is so pliable you can't lean (depend) on it. What say you? --Monado 04:35, 28 November 2024 UTC [refresh]

Discussion

[edit]

I've reformed the page to be a bit more like what I had envisioned for the use of this boilerplate. That doesn't mean it's finished, though :). Anyway, some comments:

  • Under the "Music" heading, there's a sentence about John Ford that doesn't make sense -- is a word left out?
  • I changed the Eddie Butcher one to "Another Man's Wedding", because "Another Man Wedding" didn't make sense to me
  • Made various other changes throughout

OK, I upgraded it to start, but it probably deserves a B. Any objections? Pustelnik 21:05, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Duplication

[edit]

The user "Hornplease" duplicated the entire Steeleye Span text. Please don't do this. It's already there, further down the page. If you input any other verions please ensure that they are in chronological order. Ogg 08:35, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

URL problem

[edit]

There is something wrong with the URL in footnote 3. I was unable to fix the cite. Could someone fix that? PraeceptorIP (talk) 16:32, 24 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
