Questions for a Farsi speaker

[edit]

@Jeeputer: in case he/she is interested

  • are there articles about the books or the newspapers? Elinruby (talk) 21:46, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • “He was responsible for building Persia's first telegraph line, the government printing house and the governorates of Malayer and Tuyserkan.” Am I correct in thinking he *built* the telegraph line but was just in charge of the other things? Or was he also responsible for their creation? The sentence is a bit awkward and confusion about facts is making it harder to reword.
    • my bad, he theorised the telegraph line and directed the printing house
  • ”Mirza” comes up quite a bit. Is it a title? Or possibly a family name? Elinruby (talk) 21:53, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • its a title
  • Does “Diwan” just mean poetry? If this is a description not a title, it shouldn’t be capitalized. Also on this list, is it in two parts like that because the items in the second list aren’t books but some other type of writing?
  • diwan of divan is a collection of poems so it sould not be capitalised, regarding the list, i don't quit think its fit into the article so with your permission of course i would like to change it back
  • I did not find an article for Mirza Nazar Ali Hakim bashi Qazvini, but he is described as an influential Sufi. I leave it to someone else to judge notability. Also Abdol-Rahim Heravi, Abd al-Razzak Bey, Ma'ater-e soltaniya, Mirza Nazar Ali Khan, Malkam Khan (Mirza Malkam Khan already linked), Fars mosh Khaneh (Faramosh Khaneh)), Ahmad Karzbar, Hakim Semnani, Council of Benevolent Reforms, Sheikh Mohammad Mehdi Shams al-Ulama Abd al-Rabbadi, Mirza Abolfazl Savji, Mullah Abdul Wahab Qazvini, and Mirza Hassan Taleghani, also Aqa seyyed Ali, al-Firriest (Al-Fihrist)), Mohammad Taqi Sepehr (Mohammad Taqi Mirza?), Tarikh-e Qajariya, Mirza Taher Isfahani and Mirza Ahmad Kashani
    • i pointed out the ones who had the article, a little misspelling i should say, the rest dont have one
  • is Mirza Hosein Khan Moshir od-Dowleh the same person as Aliqoli Khan Mokber al-Dowleh? If so he has an article, but it talks about railways not telegraphs, and the name seems slightly differer
    • they are diffrent persons, you see, -Dowleh and Khan are titles
  • found a Wikidata entry for Mohammad Hassan Khan Etemad al-Saltanah but don’t see an article?
    • in english he doesnt have one

Rate Attribute Review Comment
1. Well-written:
1a. the prose is clear, concise, and understandable to an appropriately broad audience; spelling and grammar are correct.
1b. it complies with the Manual of Style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation.
2. Verifiable with no original research:
2a. it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline.
2b. reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose).
2c. it contains no original research.
2d. it contains no copyright violations or plagiarism.
  • Earwig shows extensive copying of phrases and whole sentences from the Encyclopedia Iranica entry on the subject. These are clear copyright violations. Unfortunately, this means this review is likely a quick-fail per WP:GAFAIL. I would be happy to review the article again once the copyright violations have been removed.
3. Broad in its coverage:
3a. it addresses the main aspects of the topic.
3b. it stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style).
4. Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each.
5. Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute.
6. Illustrated, if possible, by media such as images, video, or audio:
6a. media are tagged with their copyright statuses, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content.
6b. media are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions.
7. Overall assessment.
