Platinum
[edit]Are you sure the Unplugged reached its first platinum award? There's nothing about it on the RIAA website...
- KEYS, ALICIA UNPLUGGED OCTOBER 11, 2005 JANUARY 25, 2008 J RECORDS STANDARD PLATINUM ALBUM SOLO Cheers! Stella (My talk page) 02:31, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
Someone changed the single positions!! --93.146.229.141 (talk) 20:36, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
Chart Positions for Superwoman
[edit]These Can't Be Correct. Just Looking At New Zealand's Chart Entry, It Definitely didn't peak at 123 or something like that. The Chart officially only reaches number 40. Superwoman did not chart, but i think it would have been close to charting. not near number 123! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.154.106.229 (talk) 04:19, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
Why is that so that it didn't make the charts and its such an amazing sing by the way these people are unfair Emoji qxeen (talk) 15:12, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
R&B CHART
[edit]It MUST be showed the US R&B chart because she is probably the greatest R&B songwriter of her generation! it's her chart, i'd say that it's more relevant than the HOT 100. Every R&B page includes it, and also i'd say that here it is FAR more relevant than the Denmark chart! --93.146.248.249 (talk) 12:48, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
- Calling a chart from one region more important that another is clear a blatant violation of WP:NPOV. This article uses only the Hot 100 because it only needs one chart from each region. Calling the R&B chart "hers" and "far more relevant" is clearly an opinion, not a fact. If readers would like to see all the charting positions, there are separate articles for each song. — ξxplicit 18:57, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
Please, be objective. The Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs is the chart where Keys has charted more during her career and it's not an opinion saying that a singer of a specifical genre has a reference chart. Keys is one of - if not the greatest - exponent of that genre nowadays (and this is not an opinion, it's a fact) and in her discography this must be considered. Keys has broken chart records primarily in the R&B field, just as Carrie Underwood did it in the country one or Coldplay in the rock one and their discographies consider that by remarking the success of their songs in those specifical charts. Finally, what i meant in my former intervention was that some countries have a less efficient music industry (you'll agree with me that unfortunately if an artist scores a #1 in the US or if he does it in Denmark, there's a difference in terms of global success) and so it's encyclopedically irrevelevant to remark the success of an R&B artist there: in the future, people will remember Keys as an R&B artist and this must be considered while creating her discography! i'm not saying that Denmark is a less important country than US, because i do not believe this, but R&B was born in the US and it's still more successfull there (some R&B artists are known only in the US) so don't misunderstand what i'm saying. Please forgive me for my strange english:)--93.146.248.249 (talk) 19:37, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
- Discography pages are not meant to document the most or highest chart activity of a recording artist, they are meant to give readers a gist of how they charted in their own country and among others (assuming they have charted outside their own). Again, even as a fan, calling Keys "one of - if not the greatest - exponent of that genre nowadays" is an opinion. Some consider her talentless, boring and repetitive. If the latter is an opinion, why is the former a fact? If Keys lacked success on the Hot 100, it would be more reasonable to replace it with the R&B chart as its more relative to the discography, but because that isn't the case, I still have to respectfully disagree about including more than one chart per country. — ξxplicit 03:39, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
I wouldn't say that considering Keys one of the greatest R&B artists of our era is comparable to consider her talentless: the latter one is a pure opinion, based on a subjective point of view; the former is an objective statement: in terms of sales in the US, she's definitely the best selling female artist of the decade: if you compare her with the others big sellers of the decade (Mary J. Blige, Beyoncé, Mariah Carey) you'll notice that none of those artists has sold more than her (i'm referring to RIIA certifications). In terms of charts achievements, she's scored six number one singles on the R&B chart, the most for any R&B female artists during the decade. Also, it would be easy to find sources from papers which could sustain my statement. What i mean is that during the last ten years she's been an influent recording artist on the R&B chart and i would say - this is my personal opinion, so you can calmly criticize me:) - that during her career she's been quite a global embassador of R&B: she's never tried to achieve a bigger success by redefining her music (just as Beyoncé did) and that's what separates her from the other R&B artists. For me, her importance in the music industry consists just in this: she's a pure soul singer, who has musically growth during her career and has been able to redefine in her way soul music, and that's why i'd like to see here the R&B chart. However, i understand your point of view and i truly respect that. --93.146.193.54 (talk) 12:49, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
I too say add the US RB chart. The RB chart is on Beyonce's discography page. RB is genre of AK's music & where she has her success. 70.108.55.91 (talk) 01:51, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
Please can someone add the R&B chart onto her discography, it is totally relevant. Also i would like to see the other charts like Spain, Portugal, Japan etc. Why have the been removed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.132.120.139 (talk) 12:04, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Can someone add the US R&B chart to the songs Alicia has Featured on —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.183.235.13 (talk) 12:16, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
Never mind. Found it. Delete this.
German Charts / Dutch Chart
[edit]Why is the Mega Single Top 100 used for the singles discography, on almost all other pages the Dutch Top 40 is used. It's preferable since the chart positions are also higher. I hope you could change that. Boemhard (talk) 16:25, 25 November 2011 (UTC)
A better question is: WHERE ARE THE GERMAN CHARTS!? 4th biggest music market in the world! add the german charts! how can this happen??
R&B Chart on Collaborations/ Sales
[edit]Could someone please put a column for R&B Billboard Chart on her collaborations. Also her album sales are lower, Songs In A Minor has sold 13 million copies with club sales, The Diary 9 million, As I Am 6 million. The Element of Freedom is correct, Unplugged however doesn't show WW sales which are around 2-2.5 million. I would make the changes my self but i don't know how to do the citations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.168.150.173 (talk) 15:18, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
Who keeps deleting the UK sales on her discography? Please stop doing that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.164.124.221 (talk) 12:57, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
Someone needs to update girl on fire sales. It's WW sales are: 779,000, US: 373,000, UK: 142,000 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.148.20.46 (talk) 13:07, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
I will pray (pregherò)
[edit]Giorgia (con Alicia Keys) - I will pray (Pregherò) is an official single. Please add in feat single section.--217.202.56.93 (talk) 19:25, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
Lead too short ?
[edit]This has had a tag that the lead is too short since September.
The lead seems longer than most discographies - does it need more ? -- Beardo (talk) 20:45, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
