This is barely start-class. Google Scholar finds over 50 scholarly works that appear likely to be useful for expanding the article [1] (see WP:GACR #3). Among the sources that are actually used, the Central Park Conservancy one appears non-independent, Viewing NYC and Untapped appear to be promotional tourism web sites, and I'm not convinced that the Durante link meets WP:EXPERTSPS (GACR #2). Prose like "The sculpture is unique because visitors are encouraged to interact with the statue" is dubious (in what way is this unique); the controversies section doesn't even WP:USEPROSE (GACR #1). I'm not convinced that the gallery section passes WP:NOTGALLERY or adds much value to the article, and none of the images is properly captioned. I wondered about the copyright status of the images (the sculpture is recent enough to potentially be under copyright); the main image makes a plausible claim that it fell out of copyright because it had no copyright notice, but the other images are not all labeled with a proper license. (All GACR #6).

Thanks for your efforts; it is not bad, as a start-class article, and I often aim for start-class in my own article-writing efforts. But I think it is far enough from multiple Good Article criteria to be a quick-fail under WP:QF #1.

I never nominated an article before but I will take your suggestions for improvement and see what I can do. Thx! SmileyShogun (talk) 16:53, 27 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
