Title?
[edit]In what sense is this woman "Lady of Athens"? Did she use that title in her lifetime? Srnec (talk) 19:54, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
- I though I knew her as "Alice de la Roche" but I will have to check on that. She didn't rule Athens herself, of course. Adam Bishop (talk) 01:56, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
- Should I move the title to Alice de la Roche? Yes, I think I shall to avoid confusion. No, she never did rule Athens. Her daughter claimed Athens by right of her descent from Alice, but Alice herself never ruled.--jeanne (talk) 07:11, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Birthplace
[edit]- Was she born in Greece? I have not been able to locate a birthplace for her.--jeanne (talk) 12:40, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
Ancestry
[edit]It says her paternal grandfather was Otto I, but her father Guy was Otto's NEPHEW not his son —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jason the Slayer (talk • contribs) 14:42, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
- Jason, both my sources, Charles Cawley's Medieval Lands and Libro d'Oro della Nobilty di Mediterranean confirm that Otto or Othon was the father of Guy, not his uncle. Have you any sources, besides the Wikipedia article on Guy which is not in itself a valid source, that says Othon/Otto was Guy's uncle?--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 15:07, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
