"Puritan"
[edit]Was she one, in fact? No ref, and her son Spencer fought for the Royalists, not that that is conclusive. If she was, she could be so categorized. Johnbod (talk) 10:35, 27 November 2015 (UTC) Hi John, Merry Xmas, the ODNB says "Lucy [née Spencer], Alice, Lady Lucy (c.1594–1648), puritan gentlewoman" as her title entry. I have cited this, do feel free to add cats etc Victuallers (talk) 09:57, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
two bunches of sons?
[edit]What does it mean to say "she first had three sons, x, y & z, who would inherit the title. She then had three other sons, p, q & r, who got the estate." It makes no sense. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.182.143.139 (talk) 08:02, 25 December 2015 (UTC)
- Alice and her husband were said to have a perfect marriage. Alice first had three sons named Spencer, Robert and Richard who would in time inherit their father's title. She then had three other sons named Thomas, William and Foulk. The latter's eldest son, Davenport Lucy, would eventually inherit the house at Charlecote. Alice also had six daughters named Constance, Margaret, Bridget, Alice, Mary and Elizabeth.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.182.143.139 (talk) 08:03, 25 December 2015 (UTC)
