Hi there! I see you've created a biography about Alfred Karney Young in your user space. I was about to created an article about him myself when a search turned up your "incubator" article. The article looks fairly substantial to me — more than ready to go live. So are you ready to move it to the main article space? David Cannon (talk) 12:15, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Canadian?

[edit]

Can he really be said to be Canadian? He was born in BC, but his father was there on official service. His own Who's Who entry displays no evidence of any connection to Canada apart from his place of birth (which isn't even listed in the entry). Atchom (talk) 23:22, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I wrote most of this article, and I deliberately left out any specific nationality. 'Canadian' is the addition of someone else. Young was born in 1864, the Canadian Confederation didn't exist until 1867, and BC didn't join it until 1871. So I have restored my original lede that Young was simply a native of BC. I've also removed the categories relating to Canada. MinorProphet (talk) 03:17, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
