I have undone the changes announcing Ribeiro's death, as no source has been cited and and I have not found any source that substantiates this information. Please provide your source(s) for this information so it can be verified.

He's a (cute)great actor.--Peace, Cute 1 4 u 11:42, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The carlton dance has just been promised.

This article needs some mention of him selling breakdancing mats and materials on infomercials in the 1980s.

I was thinking of adding a section on this page about the widespread rumor that circulated in the 1980's about him breaking his neck and dying when he attempted to breakdance after doing the Michael Jackson commercial. If anybody can find reasons why I shouldn't, please let me know. Sarc37 19:03, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gumball 3000

[edit]

He is participating in the Gumball 3000 this year (2008). I saw him at the Gumball 3000 and I know he is in it but I didn't see him arrive or leave so I don't know what car he is in but I do know he is in it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.5.218.217 (talk) 05:36, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Middle Name

[edit]

I just added Ribeiro's middle name (Lincoln) to the article. It says that that is his middle name on PublicBackgroundChecks.com: http://www.publicbackgroundchecks.com/Default.aspx?view=&nmi=Alfonso%20Ribeiro

Explain This

[edit]

"Afro-Dominican?" This is like saying "Afro-Nigerian." It does not make sense since the peoples of the Dominican Republic ARE of African origins and are black. The MAJORITY is clearly black and the rest are clearly mulattoes, like it's neighbor, Haiti. You need to clean this up and get it right.--71.235.81.39 08:02, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

-WRONG. actually i'm white and dominican, african-dominicans account for 17%, while mixed is 77% (white is 16%), so I say it should be kept. if you need evidence, here: https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/dr.html#People Mixed can range any shade, and while many are in the darker range, everything you just stated is a stereotype. Descent

[edit]

Alfonso Ribeiro says in a interview, last July 26,2008 for Sidewalkstv that his family is from Trinidad & Tobago. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rebezuniga (talkcontribs) 19:05, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

According with an interview this month, he said his family is from Trinidad & Tobago. [1] 26 july 2008 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rebezuniga (talkcontribs) 04:37, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In the intro of the article it says that he is of Dominican descent (and he is in the corresponding category), but in "Personal Life" he apparently says in an interview that he is of Trinidadian descent, however there is no source cited. Which is it? It contradicts itself. Save-Me-Oprah (talk) 23:57, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It does not contradict itself. Though his family immigrated from Dominica, he has not to be of dominican descent, as there are also foreigners on that island. I thing the category is just wrong. (hope this is understandable, not a native speaker) 129.217.129.132 (talk) 16:12, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Two things: Dominican means either from Dominica or the Dominican Republic. The article makes no clear stipulation of to which it refers. Second, the article states that his family is from Trinidad and Tobago and that his grandfather was a Trinidadian calypsonian, thus he his family did not emigrate from either Dominica or the Dominican Republic, but from Trinidad and Tobago. 76.111.29.50 (talk) 05:44, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Citation 2 is used to supposedly confirm his Dominican roots but the link goes to an interview where he explains his parents are NOT from Dominican Republic. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Elcibao (talkcontribs) 14:44, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It Clearly States on his IMDb page [1] that he is NOT of Dominican descent. The exact interview where it was mentioned was not stated in the article itself. Only that his family was of Trinidad and Tobago. Another place where his ancestry is mentioned is [2] & [3]. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.36.58.132 (talk) 10:33, 17 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Catch 21

[edit]

Nothing about Catch 21? I'm shocked. I thought there was a certain breed of people who strive to incessantly updated the nooks and crannys of Wikipedia. I guess they haven't stayed yet up to 3am watching GSN. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.62.10.24 (talk) 07:37, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Did Ribiero make history on DWTS?

[edit]

I don't have sources to confirm, so obviously I can't add this to the articlespace, but maybe someone else has a source: when he competed on Dancing with the Stars, during one of the competitions he and his partner performed The Carlton. Ribiero devised The Carlton for Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Would that make him the first DWTS competitor to perform a dance style of his own creation on the show? Sort of like having Hank Ballard compete (if DWTS was made 40 years ago) and performing The Twist. 50.66.121.20 (talk) 13:21, 14 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

AFV host

[edit]

The new season of America's Funniest Videos has Alfonso Ribeiro has new host (in Europe [Belgium] it is on television in 2020, not sure for the USA). PieterJansegers (talk) 15:25, 19 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
