Citations needed

[edit]

I've undone significant blanking that was done due to lack of references, instead adding a {{BLP sources}} tag. As the existing tag indicates, this article does need some editing too. Yaxu (talk) 09:15, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

User:Yaxu, please refer to WP:BLPUNDEL Uwsi (talk) 16:34, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That refers to contentious material. I don't see how any of this is contentious or likely to be challenged. Feel free to point out particular passages that you feel this applies to though. For now this needs to be referenced and editing, and deleting it only gets in the way of that. Yaxu (talk) 16:45, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Adding a message that citations are needed is not just an excuse to leave the article in such a bad state (Wikipedia:Verifiability, "Any material that needs a source but does not have one may be removed"), if someone that isn't you (because of the obvious COI concerns), wants to put some work on this article, they can restore the deleted paragraphs from the article's history. Uwsi (talk) 16:42, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed some bits could do with deleting outright (edit - probably only the sentence you've already deleted), but no future editor is going to search the history for stuff worth saving retrospectively. I don't think I have any CoI here. Yaxu (talk) 17:48, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've saved a sentence, backed up with a reference, which was very easy to find. While we're talking about CoI, could you explain why you have created an account especially for blanking parts of pages I'm vaguely connected with? You claim to be new to wikipedia but appear to have in-depth knowledge of its processes, which to me suggests WP:SOC might be a problem, via WP:PREC and perhaps WP:SPASOCK.
