The Alexandri Family have origins from The Egyptian city of Alexandria. They are ethnicaly in majority Egyptian rums (descendants of the Byzantine Romans), or Copts , that helped in the Greek revolution in 1821. Due to the fact that the Egyptian government helped the Ottomans against the Greeks, providing them with warships, equipment and men, these Christians of Egypt, left Alexandria to help the Greeks , because they had a strong connection with the Greek land and the Greek commonwealth. They first arrived in the Island of Spetses,where they helped in the local revolution, while a greeat number of the left for the Peloponnese and Aitolokarnania. These Egyptians were named Alexandris due ro their Ethnicity and origin.
