Nationality

Leona Lewis, Estelle, Adele etc. are all identified as English, not British. They shouldnt be because they arent English they are British. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Braby (talkcontribs) 23:32, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

All of the singers you mentioned were born in London, last time I looked London was in England ergo their nationality can be correctly described as English. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.171.174.174 (talk) 16:28, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

London's a city in the UK, and all these singers carry UK passports, not English passports. Not that I care either way - I just think your argument is bizarre. Cheers, This flag once was redpropagandadeeds 16:38, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

Im sorry but They should be marked as british. or say from britain england,

But british should definately be mentioned as Leona Lewis is welsh. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.146.48.36 (talk) 16:03, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

Anyone seen an English passport? Or indeed a rainbow sheep? I'm sure my passport happens to be British. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.164.222.45 (talk) 22:17, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

Anyone who is born in the United Kingdom Of Great Britain And Northern Ireland is British first and British Only. Fact. Its not hard to understand this topic and discusion should not even exist.

MOS:BIO says there is no consensus over which should be used. Discussions are ongoing at Talk:Leona Lewis, Talk:Susan Boyle, Talk:Cheryl Cole and Talk:Robbie Williams. It's not about passports, it's about countries. Since England is a country, it is possible to say Alexnadra Burke is English. Neither is right or wrong, but it shouldn't be changed without a good reason, i.e. if she says she would prefer one over the other. AnemoneProjectors 12:42, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

Leona Lewis is infact welsh not english.

Her mother is welsh and her father is african

Therfore she is not english in any way —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.146.48.36 (talk) 15:59, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

@unsigned... Leona Lewis was born in London... so unless London has been moved to Wales without me realising, she is English or British (depending on your point of view). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.17.56.111 (talk) 02:28, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Genre?

Would you really say that she is 'Pop' as I would highly disagree. I feel she's definitly more R&B. Wneedham02 (talk) 23:17, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

I'm not disagreeing, but would say that it is difficult to judge on the limited number of recordings and releases so far. Khcf6971 (talk) 23:28, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
(ec)Does it matter? If a decent reference ties her to a specific genre, include it. "Pop" isn't really a genre as such anyway, just a description of the application of another genre (rock, R'n'B, whatever). However, as the winner of a pop-music talent show and top of the pop charts, I think it's fairly obvious she would fall under the style of "pop". J Milburn (talk) 23:31, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
I agree, at this point, she falls under pop. Sky83 (talk) 11:13, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

I feel it is hard to put her under any sort of genre judging by the fact she has not released any singles outside of The X Factor ones. She has got a Soul/RnB voice but she won a Pop music show so I think she should remain under Pop until she releases some music. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.71.36.27 (talk) 07:51, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Deletion of content

I notice that all the stuff about the campaign to get Buckley's version to #1 has been deleted (or has it been moved elsewhere?) In my view this was all pertinent information; I don't understand why it was deleted. If no one has a good reason then I propose it should be restored. 86.136.26.187 (talk) 03:37, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

I agree, I think there will probably be some debate, but I see it as relevant. If only because when you consider some of the crap that makes it onto some articles, it seems completely non-sensical to delete important details. Sky83 (talk) 13:17, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
I've restored it. If someone wants to reformat it, integrate it better into the main text, and/or move it to a separate article then fine, but please don't just delete it because the Buckley "controversy", especially, is very relevant and pertinent information. 86.134.55.195 (talk) 01:02, 26 December 2008 (UTC).

I think that even though she has a limited amount of songs so far ,since they are both rnb, she should be counted as an rnb singer. January 09 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.70.109.60 (talk) 12:22, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

The length of this article is unnecessary for her relevance in the public sphere. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.100.169.216 (talk) 19:00, 4 November 2017 (UTC)

Hallelujah

Why doesn't the song Hallelujah have its own page instead of a section on the artists page? 78.147.69.160 (talk) 23:41, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

The song does - and Alexandra Burke's version has a subsection on the page Hallelujah_(Leonard_Cohen_song)#Alexandra_Burke Khcf6971 (talk) 00:02, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

could the appreciation of burke for hallelujah please be changed, 'didn't do nothing for her' ... she nuanced it yesterday on belgian television, she stated she pulled out her inner whitney for it, and has indeed now learned to love the song and loves to sing and perform it. It was part of her promotourinterview here, but I don't know the program anymore.....could someone please check —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.21.61.22 (talk) 23:11, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Topping the year - end chart

  • The article claims that Alexandra Burke is the first X-Factor winner to top the year end singles chart in the UK even though Bleeding Love was the best selling single of the year in 2007. I propose a change to "victory" single or suchlike —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sebmcateer (talkcontribs) 17:28, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Discography page? Really?

Is there really any need for a whole page to state that she had two songs out - "hero" and "hallelujah". Her album is still TBAd and i think that that page is unnecessary and should be removed1 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.71.31.240 (talk) 20:47, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Well she has had 3 #1 singles so far now, I think she should have a discography page now, and her album went straight to #1. Codywarren08 (talk) 20:43, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
Three singles and one album still isn't really enough for a separate discography page. AnemoneProjectors (talk) 14:27, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
Actually I think it is, lots of other artists have had discography pages before they even had three singles, like Lady GaGa Codywarren08 (talk) 15:48, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
I think it's borderline. AnemoneProjectors (talk) 15:53, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

Poland

Why has her number one charting in Poland been removed yet again? It is fact as she stated herself on twitter! 4/2/2010. —Preceding unsigned comment added by RoryAK (talkcontribs) 16:48, 4 March 2010 (UTC)

Poland doesn't have an official singles chart, only an airplay chart which she did not reach #1 in. She reached #1 on the Polish National Top 50 which is a BADCHART Spyka (talk) 19:54, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Post X Factor (second album)

first of all under wikipedia rules it is correct to include the future album tag. furthermore why does someone keep adding Timabaland and JAY z as confirmed producers even though sources only confirm AKon and Pharell. If you continue to add other unsourced content users will be reported to administrators for WP:tenditious editting which could result in a ban from wikipedia.

please do not add content unless it is sourced. Giving information about leaks simply helps fans spread illegal music. I've only kept that information in the article because SYco/Simon cowell has reported that two tracks were stolen. I am going to remove the tracks' names to prevent people from spreading the word. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 17:14, 17 July 2009 (UTC))

Bad Boys has reached number 1 in the Irish Singles chart! But on her main page is still says it hasn't charted! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.45.230.95 (talk) 14:19, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

There was a post saying this section needed to be edited so I have done so - let me know if you think its ok. I have deleted some information as it was repeated on the actual album page (which is where it should be anyway) like info about produced and the stolen demos. I also got rid of a couple of sentences like it being the fasted selling single of year as this is no longer true. I also updated the release date as this changed. Hope everyone thinks it sounds ok. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dallum89 (talkcontribs) 22:09, 26 October 2009 (UTC)

Template deleted - discussion as to a re-creation

Burke's template has been deleted. In my opinion it should have not been, the deletion was justified by a 10 month old consensus - Which is out-dated now there is more information for a template. (Namely her new single and album). In addition, there was more information on the Alexandra Burke template than some others that remain, for example JLS's 12bigbrother12 (talk) 03:18, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

I agree, the consensus has definitely changed as she's released her second single and the album also has an article. AnemoneProjectors (talk) 15:14, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

US album

I've removed the majority of the content about a US release, leaving in only the apparant deal which still needs a citation.

Redone's tweet mentioned nothing about working on a US release, it was about her fourth UK single "The Silence" (which is no longer her fourth single anyway)

Also, as it's now May 2010 I think its safe to assume the unsourced statement that her album was due out in April 2010 was made up Spyka (talk) 19:51, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Debut tour

Alexandra has been talking about her tour for ages on twitter and dates for UK and Ireland have been released. Why is nothing mentioned on here?calvin999 23:52, 29 July 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Calvin999 (talkcontribs)

where is the link for the dates? --Lil-unique1 (talk) 23:59, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
