Name of Augusta's college

[edit]

Augusta took a B.A. in Medicine at Trinity College, Toronto, not "Trinity Medical College." The College is now a nominally separate university that is part of the University of Toronto.

I am changing the link to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Trinity_College. Monado (talk) 01:54, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Inaccuracies about Toronto

[edit]

I see see that the NIH biography on Google docs is the source of the nonexistent "Trinity Medical College."

I'm still trying to track down the nonexistent "Toronto City Hospital," which came from a self-described "Very accurate" online encyclopedia. Of about six references on the web, four are from articles about Alexander T. Augusta and two are unrelated references in obscure documents. There's an outside chance that it's an early name, or part of the name, for the Sick Children's Hospital, but I don't think so. There are simply too few references. Other sources, being American, don't bother to mention the name of the hospital. Any help is appreciated.

What activity in Virginia was illegal?

[edit]

"As a young man, he began to learn to read while working as a barber, although it was illegal for free blacks to do so in Virginia at that time." Question: was it illegal to read, barber, or both? Ailsd (talk) 13:03, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
