Talk:Alexander Spicer

I am not experienced in making changes, but this 'biography' has a number of significant errors and needs to be amended:

Alexender was born in Sandwich, Kent, in 1574 where his father Richard was Rector. His father was from Exeter (and had previously attended Exeter College, Oxford), one of five Spicer brothers, the sons of a successful merchant Thomas Spicer, Steward of Exeter in 1552. Richard's four brothers remained in Exeter.

Alexander was in fact Dean of Killaloe from 1628 to 1637 (which is what the source provided says - no idea where the dates in the biography have come from!).

And he retired to Corton Denham in Somerset, he did not remain in Ireland. His father Richard had changed parish at some point and had been Rector at Corton Denham till his death in 1607. Both of Alexander's living sisters Sara and Elizabeth, who were born at Corton Denham, were still living in the area having married (services conducted by their father Richard) and had families there.

Alexander died in Corton Denham in 1641.

He most probably left a will, written in Ireland in 1619, and proved at the Dublin Prerogative Court at some point, but it appears to have destroyed in the 1922 fire that destroyed so many Irish records and we only know of this will (and therefore cannot be sure it was from this Alexander Spicer) from the surviving index.

Do I just correct this page? How much of the above is relevant? How many of the sources (e.g. parish records) do we include? Or do I put in the Wikitree link?

Would appreciate some guidance on this!
