Anything to do with J. H. Curle?

[edit]

Alexander Ormiston Curle has a brother, fr:James Curle (archéologue), archaeologist-ceramologist. These two grew up at Priorwood, also in Melrose parish and also at the foot of the same Eildon Hills. But according to Alexander, these two have two brothers (4 boys in total) and 4 sisters, so that's a family of 8 kids, not eleven kids as this J.H. Curle himself says he belongs to.
James' and Alexander's father is said to be Alexander (sen.) Curle (although I found one source that said their father was called James, but I dismissed that one in the end for being less credible than the 2 sources giving Alexander's name for their father).
See French article on James Curle, those of you who do not read French can check the sources, all in English.
I imagine that there can't be two unrelated Curle families living in the same parish at the same time. Is J.H. Curle a brother of the other two? A cousin? I've read all the material needed (and some more) to write the James archaeologist' Fr article, haven't seen one single mention of J.H. Curle - but by the look of it J.H. may have been considered as the family's black sheep and all mentions of him therefore avoided.
