Identity
[edit]Various suggestions have been put forward as to the identity of the "A. Nash" who played for England in the March 1870 match including:
- Alexander James Nash, born 17/11/1849 in Pimlico, an accountant to a shipping company
- Andrew John Nash, born 1/9/1849 in Edmonton, who became a solicitor in London
These suggestions were made in a discussion forum ([1]); in this discussion forum, the biographer Andy Mitchell indicates that he favoured the latter, but in his biography of Kinnaird, he refers to Nash as Alexander, so would have appeared to have rejected Andrew John Nash as a candidate. In email correspondence, he has indicated that the Alexander James Nash referred to above is also not the correct identity, but will not go further. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 06:45, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
