Riel/Dumont connection?

This page is linked to from Gabriel Dumont (Métis leader)#Military actions and conflicts: "In particular, Dumont was a part of the arrest of Alexander Monkman. Dumont ensured the safety of Louis Riel by jumping in front of Monkman's revolver when he pulled it on Riel, leading to Monkman's quick arrest."
