GA Reassessment
[edit]- The article in question does not meet GA criterion #6 - A good article is — Illustrated, if possible, by images (Other media, such as video and sound clips, are also covered by this criterion.).--Avala (talk) 22:35, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
- Because all images that we had cannot be hosted on the Commons due to copyright policies and we cannot have fair use images of living persons that are high profile as a state leader. So, this still passes GA 6. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 06:35, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- Not really. Images can be made, it's not impossible at all. Something like this Image:Barack Obama in New Hampshire.jpg can be made by someone from Belarus but until then this article doesn't meet very clear GA criterion 6. That criterion doesn't mention anything like "if there is no available image then never mind" as you suggested.--Avala (talk) 10:13, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- The criteria, as you pointed out is, "Illustrated, if possible, by images." So right now, it is just not possible. The photo request is the right step, but I am not sure how long it is going to take. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 16:48, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- I think that part refers to the footnote which says that other media applies too and not the fact if images are available or not. The article has no media at all, not even the sound file for his name so I think it doesn't meet the criterion 6.--Avala (talk) 17:11, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- Still, overall, the article is a Good Article. It has been illustrated before, plus, we still have two images in the Commons and still show a Commons category. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 17:20, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- If you really, really want a photo of the man, this is my photo of his official photo, along with a Belarusian table flag at my house. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 17:25, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah that would be good until we get something better. I tried contacting the press office of the president of Belarus but they never replied. Maybe we could try with an embassy. And when we are at it, do you know anyone who could record an .ogg of his name too?--Avala (talk) 19:56, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- I tried to contact the Belarusian Embassies in Italy and the USA, no response either. I'll upload the photo. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 20:01, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Photo has been uploaded, but it seems the Commons don't want to load images. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 20:06, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- Comment I think there should be a "First term (1994-2001)" section, even if it doesn't have much, on the face of it it appears this time isn't covered in the article at all - rst20xx (talk) 23:05, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
- The time is covered in the article, but in a different location. It is at Alexander_Lukashenko#Domestic_policy. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 03:31, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
- Administrative close. I'm assuming this is a keep. Geometry guy 09:46, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
