Family origin
[edit]His origin is not Transylvanian-Saxon. He was born to Jewish parents (Solomon and Yetta Bickel), originally from Bucharest, Romania, who had imigrated to Brooklyn, NY, as detailed in "Outliers", by Malcolm Gladwell. Because of his Jewish immigrant background, he was discriminated against and not hired by one of the prestigious law firms of the day.
Pentagon Papers
[edit]I was surprised to see no mention of his role defending the NY Times in the Pentagon Papers case. Is that not a significant chapter in his life? Kevink707 (talk) 18:59, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
