Hi, I am the subject of this article. Per WP:BIOSELF I will not edit the article directly, but since it seems my wikianonymity is over I thought I would drop some factual links for future authors.

I was born in Los Angeles County in 1979, not Sacramento. I don't have a good citation for this, and I apologize for not posting my birth certificate. I mostly grew up in Fair Oaks, California and I graduated from Bella Vista High School in 1997. (http://sanjuaneducationfoundation.org/alex-stamos/) As noted, I attended the University of California, Berkeley and graduated in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in 2001. (http://scet.berkeley.edu/newton-lecture-series-alex-stamos/)

After university, I worked as a Security Engineer at Loudcloud and as a consultant at @stake. (https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/232124) I'm not sure this is an appropriate citation, but here is my LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/alexstamos/

In 2004, I co-founded iSEC Partners along with Joel Wallenstrom, Himanshu Dwivedi, Jesse Burns and Scott Stender. iSEC was sold to NCC Group in 2010 (http://www.growthbusiness.co.uk/ncc-group-acquires-isec-partners-1292068/). After the acquisition, I was the CTO of an internal-startup at NCC Group called Artemis Internet. During my time at iSEC/NCC, I got to work on some fun research, such as:

I was an expert witness for:

While at NCC Group I got to file five patents (https://patents.google.com/?inventor=alexander+charles+stamos&oq=alexander+charles+stamos)

I joined Yahoo as CISO in March 2014. While at Yahoo, I testified in Congress (https://www.c-span.org/video/?319399-1/online-advertising-consumer-security) and had a run-in with Adm. Michael S. Rogers (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJZNvEPyjlw). Many other interesting things happened at Yahoo that I can't speak about directly at this time.

I joined Facebook as CSO in June 2015. During that time, I co-authored a paper (with Jen Weedon and Will Nuland) on the use of social media to attack elections (https://newsroom.fb.com/news/2017/09/information-operations-update/) and gave a Black Hat keynote on the need to broaden our definition of security and to diversify our industry (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJOMTAREFtY).

I hope these citations are helpful to other authors. I'll try to keep an eye on this page for any questions. [REDACTED - Oshwah] 21:01, 25 March 2018 (UTC)

Patents

[edit]

Listing the 5 patents is a bit weird. Normally reserved for especially noteworthy patents that merited discussion in the article proper. – SJ + 20:39, 7 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ethnicity in lead sentence
