speedy deletions

[edit]

Alex McDowell is one of the "top names" in his field and is considered an expert production designer. +MATIA 13:50, 24 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Read the notice very carefully: "it is an article about a real person that does not assert the importance or significance of the subject." If he is a top name in his field the article should mention that, possibly listing awards he may have won. He may have worked with famous directors, but that in itself is not a claim to fame. The article must mention why he is renowned. I (or whoever else) will remove the notice as soon as it seems justified. Zunaid 14:00, 24 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Are you kidding? I've just started the stub and in 36 minutes you marked it for speedy deletion. +MATIA 14:15, 24 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

...people such as college professors or actors may be individually important in society ... Only those articles where there is no remotely plausible assertion of notability should be considered for Wikipedia:Speedy deletion.. As a production designer he works between the director and the actors... +MATIA 14:30, 24 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

minority report

[edit]

An external link with the previs sequences from minority report would be interesting (one can check The Terminal diary). +MATIA 16:04, 24 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

i-D Magazine

[edit]

I can't give you a reliable source, but McDowell was a founding co-editor on i-D Magazine. His name appears on the masthead on early issues. Wwwhatsup (talk) 19:59, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
