I'm Alex Martelli, I own the copyright to my bio as originally posted by my homonym Alessandro (whoever he may be), and I have no objection to it appearing on wikipedia. Feel free to contact me for confirmation at any or all of my active email addresses: aleaxit@gmail.com, aleax@mac.com, aleax@google.com -- thanks. -- Alex
GFDL version
[edit]I have corresponded with Alex Martelli, subject of this article, and asked for clarification of his copyright release. His prior comments authorizing WP to use his conference bio did not explicitly mention GFDL or PD, which would be required to allow syndication, anthologization, and derived works. In response, Alex wrote me:
OK, I have placed a better version (updated with my Frank Willison award, and 200 words long -- the bio on the O'Reilly site was squeezed downt to 100 words at O'Reilly's request) on http://www.aleax.it/bio.txt and I state that I release that text as GFDL.
I have used this expanded material as the basis for an initial draft of this biography. It is a bit too autobiographical in tone, I recognize, but at least it's a good start. LotLE×talk 17:23, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
