This article is a MESS. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.96.173.70 (talk) 19:49, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Regardless, with his departure, Incubus' music continues to evolve. The band is now even more technically proficient, producing a tight, crisp, ardous, landscape of rock contemplation.

I mean, come on! How more biased could you get?! Someone please look into this entry, I don't appreciate this slander.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. 'bisexual romance with lead singer Brandon Boyd'? Let's have some sources put in there please. 008 19:07, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually I came across references to it and did some googling... it's not on any news websites but there are enough to constitute it as an opinion. I'll add it back :). 13:03, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

and can't put personal opinion in an encylopedia!!

After his departure, Alex was replaced by Ben Kenney, who is often the subject of fan criticisms. However, he has in large part proven himself to be a worthy sucessor. While comparisons between the two are frequent, they are also useless as their respective playing styles are vastly different. Alex played almost by "feel", where the notes come off naturally. Although his bass strings were heavy gauged, there was a definite lightness to his playing. Ben, on the other hand, attacks the bass (although not in a mindless rock stomper style).

No personal disrespect to the writer(s), but is this editorializing really necessary? Not only is it not about Alex, it also seems like a defense of Ben at Alex's expense. I don't know if that violates NPOV or not, but it doesn't exactly look encyclopedic. Anon 00:24, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

This article failed to mention that Alex and Brandon's relationship became strained because of differences in political views. It has been documented in other forums and websites that Alex is a republican. The climate of Incubus' 4th release was rather partisan and downright "moonbatty" for lack of a better term. There has been widespread speculation that this was the real reason for the so called departure of Alex Katunich.

I took the liberty of making some changes due to some unnaceptable innaccuracies. For example, It is ridiculous to say that alex ever could be called the "main creative contributor" of incubus. It has been historically well-known that the vast majority of incubus' music and all lyrics and melodies were written by mike and brandon. Not to say that alex didn't have contributions, but that statement is very false and is why it was omitted. Also, it is well known that the basslines for "The Warmth, and "Speak Free" were written by Mike Einziger.

This article very nearly talks about Ben Kenney more than it does Dirk Lance. 81.158.32.219

Removed the sexual tension bit, probably vandalism. If not we need sources - ZEROpumpkins 08:44, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
