Alexander and Alexandra
I would suggest two improvements to the "Alex is sometimes short for Alexander and Alexandra" claim:
1) Move it to the article proper (the introduction) 2) Make the names wiki-links so you can click them

Male and female
I would suggest each entry is marked male or female. Otherwise the only way to know the entries' gender is to click each and every link. 85.227.226.235 (talk) 13:02, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

An Alex, the current prize of photoshop
I think the contrebution about "An Alex" should be put back in place in "Other usage". This makes it easyer to find the article you are interested in.

Famous Alexs
Aren't there any other famous alexs? There's so many famous Toms for instance (Cruise, Waits, Yorke, Petty, Jones) or famous Davids or Michaels, but there really don't seem to be any famous Alexs... what's the deal with that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.80.189.137 (talk) 08:40, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
Alex can be a given name
Alex can be a full given name, my full name is Alex. Stop changing it because it is possible to be a fullname. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alax81 (talk • contribs) 02:48, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
Alex from Silent Hill Homecoming?
Why is he not listed? --72.73.118.252 (talk) 21:42, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
My name
My names is Alex Jones. Can you add an article with my name so I can add my name to this list? How about Alex Jones (unemployed)? Also, you would need to add it to the disambiguation, I can't add it there since I don't have an account. Also, I'm Armenian-American, my mother Armenian since both her parents are Armenian, and my father an American. 2602:306:CE62:8430:8CF3:1E54:F8EE:BFA0 (talk) 12:50, 25 June 2015 (UTC)

Reorganization needed
Almost everyone on the list has the first name Alex regardless of if they are in the People whose first name is Alex or People commonly named or nicknamed Alex category. We should categorize most of them by area of notability or nationality and could have a separate category for those who are commonly know only as Alex, without the last name (there is at least one footballer).--SaskatchewanSenator (talk) 19:06, 26 November 2019 (UTC)

Adding the name 'Alexander Gideon Lightwood Bane' to the fictional characters section. Alexander Gideon Lightwood Bane is a character from the popular teen series shadowhunters and I feel he deserves a mention on this page, despite his full name being Alexander. Thank you :) AlexStretch14 (talk) 20:28, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
- Not done. There's a separate page for Alexander, and in any case, this is a disambiguation page, not an exhaustive list of every character in every book named Alex. –Deacon Vorbis (carbon • videos) 21:50, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
