[edit]This article has great organization in terms of sections but it needs quite a bit of work to improve clarity
- General
- Add many many more links to other Wikipedia pages - for example your vary first sentence could link to wikipedia articles on subduction, North American Plate, Pacific Plate and Alaska Range.
- remove spurious underlining though-out sarting with Pacific Plate.
- If a whole paragraph comes from one source, limit your citing to the first and last sentence.
- Aleutian Subduction Zone
- "with the rate of subduction greater near Alaska (63 km/my) than near Russia (74 km/my)" - confusing since 63 is less than 74 not greater
- "two main prominent features" to "two prominent features"
- replace "consumption of water from the ocean into the boundary between mantle and the oceanic crust." with something like "melting at 100 km depth due to the release of water from the subducting slab".
- Geologic Setting
- Change title to Geological Setting
- "mya" should be "Ma" throughout
- Island Arc and Continental Margin
- This has good content but I did not understand the sentence "This implies that the island arcs created the continental crust, but the composition has altered during or after the accretion to continental margins." so that suggests that you need to clarify what comes before
- Magmatism
- The wikipedia page on the Aleutian Arc lists the volcanoes so should be cited.
- "A hypothesis of this magma composition suggests that the basaltic volcanics and sediments were brought down." I do not follow this
- Trench
- There is a wikipedia article on the Aleutian Trench which you should cite
- Formation
- 2nd paragraph describes two hypotheses for the formation of the trench which I follow. I do not understand that the 3 hypotheses are in the 1st paragraph are hypotheses for and how they relate to formation of the trench.
- Sedimentation in the Eastern Aleutian Arc
- "it looks like a check mark" - this is unclear
- Seismicity
- How do rates of "~5.1-7.5 cm/year" relate to convergence rates in the opening paragraphy
- List the 4 M>8 earthquakes in the past 75 years and link their Wikipedia pages
- Reference List
- Your article has 8 citations but your reference list has 10.

[edit]This article is really coming along.
Emma has provided a whole bunch of really helpful embedded comments and I suggest you meet with Emma to clarify these and come up with edits then you definitely ready to move this to the Mainspace.
Change title "Geological Setting" to "Geological History"
Remove all the bold text dotted through the article
Increase linking to other Wikipedia articles (the first time you use any geological term or the name of a feature it should be linked)
Since this is a new page you will also want to add categories once you create it. The page will actually show you how and you can look at pages for other subduction zones to get an idea for categories.
