The result of the move request was: not moved. Some editors made reasoned and evidenced cases to treat the Peruvian footballer as the primary topic. Other editors made reasoned and evidenced cases to counter that view.
However, the strongest policy-based argument was that based on the evidence of the long-term significance of the Peruvian. BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 05:38, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

– No Primary topic Joeykai (talk) 06:37, 27 November 2015 (UTC) Relisted. Jenks24 (talk) 09:03, 9 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The other Alejandro Villanueva is a former US Army Ranger who is now playing in the NFL who has gotten 22000 page views the last 90 days. The footballer has gotten 1200. This is a huge difference that shows that there is no primary topic.Joeykai (talk) 17:09, 27 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
At WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, a case is made for primary long-term significance. The Peruvian Alejandro Villanueva is overwhelmingly more long-term significant than the former US Army Ranger who just initiated his career in the NFL in 2010. There is really no point of comparison between the two Villanuevas.--MarshalN20 Talk 05:07, 28 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
With regards to "the last 90 days" argument, prior dates show that there has been a sudden spike in page views that is not reflective of the true normal amount of page views that "Ali" Villanueva receives: this tends to be between the daily high 10s and high 20s. It is fairly reasonable to conclude that, once Ali's 15 minutes are past, the number of page views will again go significantly down.--MarshalN20 Talk 16:35, 30 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Obvious support, MarshalN20 should revise the guidelines. A primary topic can only be established using 1) page views, 2) incoming links and 3) use in other sources (internet search for instance). All of those show that both people are equally noteworthy, and there shouldn't be a preference between one or the other. --Midas02 (talk) 16:44, 29 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No. They aren't equally noteworthy. The Peruvian Alejandro Villanueva appears in 612 books in a google search ([1]). How many does the other Villanueva appear in? Perhaps there'd be better luck in renaming the article of the NFL player to "Ali Villanueva," assuming it is established to be his common name.--MarshalN20 Talk 08:25, 30 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If he was the primary topic, he wouldn't be getting out-viewed by 28000 views over the last 90 days. [2][3]Joeykai (talk) 22:41, 17 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the move request was: No consensus to move the article has been established within the RM time period and thus defaulting to not moved. (closed by non-admin page mover) Music1201 talk 17:23, 16 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Alejandro VillanuevaAlejandro Villanueva (footballer) – Over the last 90 days, "Alejandro Villanueva (American football)" has received 12,331 page views, while "Alejandro Villanueva" has only received 1,019. There is no primary topic between the two. Also, as a decorated Army Ranger who also played in the NFL, the other Alejandro Villanueva has enough significance that there is no primary topic. Joeykai (talk) 16:03, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose - As administrator BrownHairGirl pointed out in the last move request by the same user: "[T]he strongest policy-based argument was that based on the evidence of the long-term significance of the Peruvian." The current article reflects the importance of an Olympic athlete, gold medal winner at the Bolivarian Games, and also a five-time champion of Peru's top flight league. Villanueva also has a stadium named after him, Estadio Alejandro Villanueva, which also happens to be the home stadium of Peru's most popular football team (Alianza Lima). Villanueva is also cited in multiple publications (in both English and Spanish) related to sports history, sociology, and cultural studies ([4]). The NFL player "Ali" Villanueva's record pales in comparison—it seems all his notoriety is based on him being a former U.S. Army Ranger who now happens to play in the NFL (because he hasn't even won any title or award in that league).--MarshalN20 Talk 19:22, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
