[edit]@Davidlofgren1996: please stop your disruptive editing, and come here to talk like a civilized person! --Coco (talk) 21:09, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
- WP:RM seems the appropriate place ! --Coco (talk) 21:13, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
- You can make a request for a move, sure. But my reasoning is sound - the club he plays for call him Alejandro Balde. No accents, just that. The club are gonna be a better source than Soccerway or Transfermarkt! Davidlofgren1996 (talk) 21:18, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Davidlofgren1996: There definitely is some ambiguity (just look at the pages in Spanish or other languages), so I think an argument could have been made for any of the names I used, that are also used in a lot of secondary sources. But ok, you think that the name on the barca website was the one to be used, and I can understand that. But trying to force a redirection in an article that was created before the one you created is not the right way to do it. You should have just renamed the first version with the "correct" spelling, not created another version! I can understand you might not have seen it, but then again going on WP:RM or just starting a discussion seems like a more reasonable option than doing disruptive editing on this voice. --Coco (talk) 21:57, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
- I’ve had a look at the timings of the articles and they’re two minutes apart! I only found the other article when creating redirects for the version I created. We’ll see what other members of the community think. Davidlofgren1996 (talk) 22:06, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Davidlofgren1996: Ok, I've asked for a move, in case that is the right thing to do. On another note, please use a template to notify me when you answer my messages, thanks. --Coco (talk) 22:44, 14 September 2021 (UTC)

Requested move 14 September 2021
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: redirect to Alejandro Balde and merge. – wbm1058 (talk) 22:08, 20 September 2021 (UTC)
Alejandro Baldé → Alejandro Balde – This article was created first here under the spelling "Álex Balde", and another version was created under "Alejandro Balde" a few minutes later. Several spellings are used by secondary sources for this player, but "Alejandro Balde" seems to be the one used by the player and his club. So I don't know if we should delete the chronologically second version to allow the move of this one, or if we should merge them, I genuinely don't know what is more appropriate in this circumstances. Thanks for your help. Coco (talk) 22:39, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
- Support per nomination. The main title header should depict the unaccented name and the two articles should be merged. Since the Alejandro Baldé article contains more detail and more references, the less-detailed Alejandro Balde article should be merged into it. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 00:02, 15 September 2021 (UTC)
- I agree that the less detailed version should be merged as well.--67.70.24.141 (talk) 01:41, 15 September 2021 (UTC)
- Comment There's a pre-existing draft here Draft:Alejandro Balde that should be histmerged, and should've been used for the new page. And I reckon Alejandro Balde should also be merged.--Ortizesp (talk) 02:00, 15 September 2021 (UTC)

- Comment - I have merged Draft:Alejandro Balde into Alejandro Balde, so now there are just two versions - Alejandro Balde and Alejandro Baldé. They cannot be merged as they have parallel histories. I therefore suggest that this RM is closed and that Alejandro Baldé is redirected to Alejandro Balde, as that appears to be the correct spelling based on the above and the 'Balde' article has the older history. Does that sound acceptable? @Cocô53, Roman Spinner, 67.70.24.141, and Ortizesp:? GiantSnowman 09:40, 15 September 2021 (UTC)
