Possible Source
[edit]The Roman Catholic section in the wiki Archangel article Archangel#Roman_Catholic has several cites for Adalbert. One such is http://www.katinkahesselink.net/blavatsky/articles/v10/y1888_057.htm work by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, an 1800s scholar of religion and mysticism. Hope this helps whoever works on the Adalbert article, I personally do not have the background for it. Tkech (talk) 07:04, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
Aldebert or Adalbert?
[edit]The article currently uses Aldebert and Adalbert interchangably as the name of the person. This should be made consistent. I suspect they are variations of the name in different languages, and as such should be notified at the start of the article. I myself lack the knowledge to make this judgment call. 2001:14B8:201:20:8C3F:2B34:C8A0:61AD (talk) 06:42, 18 September 2012 (UTC)
- The inconsistency in using the variant names Aldebert and Adalbert persists. This is very confusing. A knowledgeable editor should look into this and make the necessary changes for a consistent presentation. werldwayd (talk) 19:39, 27 October 2013 (UTC)
- I moved it to Aldebert--this is the commonly used name in Boniface scholarship. In addition, there is no evidence that this guy was a "mystic". I'm going to rework this article some: one of the things that need recognition is that we have no sourcing outside of the Boniface correspondence. Drmies (talk) 04:34, 13 October 2014 (UTC)
Incorrect Atribution
[edit]The attribution to Mainz Anonymous may be incorrect — the article says that the Mainz Anonymous was "a century later" than Pope Zachary's letter of 747, putting it at about 847, but the Mainz Anonymous was written after the First Crusade of 1096 — also, the citation to Shepard is incomplete and I could find no work by Shepard the verify this information - Epinoia (talk) 16:37, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
- Came here to ask: who is the "Anonymous of Mainz"? The citation is useless. Srnec (talk) 21:49, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
